Becca Beckas is a rising senior at Syracuse University in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications studying Visual Communications on the Photojournalism and Editorial track.

Becca’s work spans photojournalism, portraiture, documentary, and sports with a focus on capturing the human condition and emotional connection.

Spending a year volunteering with AmeriCorps NCCC, Becca saw firsthand social and economic inequality across the west coast. As she gained a greater appreciation for hearing the stories of those she met, the experience shaped the way she approaches visual storytelling and connecting with people through her lens.

She is Assistant Visuals Editor for thenewshouse.com, as well as president of the NPPA Syracuse student chapter.
